Here comes the sun!

Well what a great way to end winter, a perfect spring day in Sydney.
I cannot wait for the hot nights, cold cocktails,bikini's and bright fashion heading our way!

A few issues on my mind:

1. Andrew Johns drug scandal: I was in disbelief when I saw the front page of The Daily Telegraph, when the football great admitted to taking drugs including ecstasy through out his successful career. What do you think should happen?
I personally believe this will could be the end of his post football career depending on the way he handles the situation. He could follow the celeb trend and go to 'rehab' or walk away from his TV deals.
For some one to admit drug taking is brave but now is he a good role model for boys growing up wanting to follow in his footsteps? I think not.
And what about the NRL? What happened to regular drug testing of footballers. For Johns to admit drug taking through out his career means there is obviously something wrong with their system. The NRL needs to impend heavier rules on footballers. This season there have been several players involved in rape allegations,drink-driving charges and now drugs.
Can anyone stop them?

2.Spring Carnival Cancelled: Picture this. I was at the gym, working up a sweat on the bike machine, listening to the 6pm Channel 7 news when it came across that NSW Spring Racing Carnival is cancelled. My heart literally sank out of my chest. Why? you may ask? I had planned to go to Spring Carnival for my birthday celebrations. I really do feel for the industry because there will be jobs gone and millions of dollars lost. This is a popular time for the horse racing industry. I only hope that all horses suffering for the EI (the horse flu) make a full recovery. For punters, there is always the greyhounds.

3. People U-turning in unnappropriate places: This is one topic that gets under my skin. Every morning and afternoon at my train station I see multiple cars U-Turn in a dangerous manner nearly knocking down pedestrians. I really do not understand why they can not travel less than a kilometre down the road where there is a more appropriate place. Drivers smarten up your act before someone gets hurt!

Owen Wilson 'Suicide attempt'

Comedian Owen WIlson, known for movies such as Wedding Crashers has been admitted to Cedars-Sinai hospital for what has been suspected as Wilson trying to take his own life.
The Daily Telegraph reports Owen: 'slashed his wrists and took a large number of unidentified pills'.
Wilson has released a media statement asking:
"i respectfully ask that the media allow me to recieve care and heal in private during this difficult time".
Both his brothers, Luke and Andrew and his parents were seen at the medical centre.
Owen was dating Kate Hudson (known for her roles in Almost Famous and How to lose a guy in 10 days) until June this year. The pair met on the set of You, Me and Dupree.
I personally love Owen for his movies. He always makes me laugh.
Hopefully, after released from hospital, he will seek on going treatment and return to full health. I wish him well.

Lindsay's day in court,Nicole's day in jail

What a system! I'm sorry but I believe there is something wrong with the law over in LA.
Even though I am a fan of both Lindsay and Nicole, I am dissapointed at the sentences they recieved for their misbehaviour.
Richie's legal team were smart. With the papparazzi covering the Lindsay Lohan trial who earlier pleaded no contest to seven charges of cocaine possession and drink-driving, Nicole checked in to Lynwood jail and served - only 35 minutes of her 4 day jail sentence!
The Simple life star, who is pregnant to Joel Madden was arrested in December, for driving the wrong way on a LA highway while under the influence of vidocin and marijuana. Since, the sentence, Richie has had several interviews, including OK! and Dianne Sawyer and admits her wrong doings.
The problem I have with this is- this is not Nicole's first conviction. To be handed a flimsy four day sentence for drug use and endangering other peoples lives i think is unacceptable. Her so called best friend, Miss Paris Hilton was sentenced to twenty one days for a similar offence!! And unlike Ms Richie, Ms Hilton did her time!

Now on to Lindsay, another notorious party girl, who also had an interview with OK! attended court.

Lohan will serve one day in jail, 10 days community service and three years of probation. She must serve her time before January 18. By Lohan admitting she is guilty of the charges, she avoided a heavier penalty.

"It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs. Recently I relapsed and did things for which I am ashamed. I broke the law, and today I took responsibility," Lohan admitted today.

The actress, who has been in movies such as Mean Girls and Georgie Rule is now in a rehab clinic in Utah ( her third rehab stint this year so far), was arrested in May after wrecking her car in Beverly Hills - and again in July following a car chase.

In both cases she was busted with cocaine, but the amounts were below the .05g required for more serious felony charges of drug possession.

This makes me question rehab! Obviously stars go there to save their career, but do they really want to get better. And do rehab centres such as Promises, really help celebrities.

My thoughts on rehab will be in a future post.

Jessica Alba has herpes?

In this weeks NW it has been reported that Miss Alba enjoys casual sex and has caught an STI (genital herpes) from basketball player Derek Jeter.
Jeter has also been linked to Vanessa Minillo and Jessica Biel.
Do we really believe this?
Jess is single after breaking off her two year relationship with Cash Warren.

Nicole and Joel to Marry

Joel Madden has asked Nicole Richie to marry him and Ms Richie has happily accepted.
Joel told Good Charlotte fans on the weekend the good news!
Nicole and Joel are expecting but wont confirm the due date. It is believed they concieved when the couple were staying at the Hilton in Sydney for the MTV awards.
No word yet on the date of the wedding.
Will they wait until the baby is born and Nicole regains her slender figure or will they marry before the US summer is over. Only time will tell.

Britney's downward spiral

Britney Spears just doesn't know where to stop.
I am starting to wonder does she really care about her reputation,lifestyle and family.
I believe her musical comeback which is supposed to be next month at an awards show will never happen.
Spears has let herself go and with her personal antics I will doubt fans will come back to her.
In the past week she has been on the front of many gossip magazines either topless with a college student or sleazy celeb wannabe, magician Criss Angel.
Criss has also been linked to the leggy Cameron Diaz.
At this rate, I never thought I would say this, but K-Fed looks like the more responsible parent.
I feel sorry for Sean Preston and Jayden James.

A bit of this and a bit of that!

I am loving the fact that spring is almost here.
This upcoming season looks like bright colours are on the return. I personally love hot pink, bright yellow and white.
Cleo has an amazing photo shoot featuring white. Just makes me crave for a tan! (ModelCo here I come!)
The maxi dress will be spring/summer's must have item as well as a fedora hat.
The fedora can be worn at the beach,club or shopping.

I also smelt Chopards new fragrence, Wish Turquoise Diamond and now is a lust-have on my birthday list. Its a light smell which is perfect for the month's ahead.

New Cleo too much like the New Cosmo?

Cleo has unveiled a new look, amazingly similar to Cosmo's new look which was also released earlier this month.
However, I believe Cleo's revamp is better than Cosmo's.
I love reading the Editor's page because its always great to get an insight to a magazine. I must say i thoroughly enjoyed this months stance against a celebrity on the cover.
Nedahl Stelio states "Thanks to the overexposure of celebrities on everything from our newspapers, to news shows to gossip magazines and websites, its rather refreshing to see a gorgeous Australian model rise to the top without having to show us her naked crotch or being a serious drug taker." (This is in reference to September's cover girl Miranda Kerr)
Although my dear friend Louise pointed two things to my attention.
Both magazines this month have run
The MySpace Vs Facebook article
and
Cheyenne Tozzi modelling hair do's.
Please either make the magazines cheaper or each magazine bring a different view to the audience because at the moment even though you are both made from the same company (ACP) and claim unveiling a new look, its still the same old, same old.

And in other news...

Former Bali prison cell model, Michelle Leslie has ended her long-term relationship with Scott Sutton, the man who supported her through her Bali ordeal.
Miss Leslie is now dating Adam Zammit.
She told the Sunday Telegraph quote "Together we have been through an experience which has created a lifelong bond between us. I know, more than many, that life is never straightforward and can be at times incredibly painful. My decision was not easy and has filled me with sadness.''
To me, it looks like another cry for publicity.
Michelle claimed her relationship with the heir was strained after the publicity she recieved. If it has been that tough on her publicly, why would you go announce a personal break-up via a national newspaper!?

Angelina says bye to Bi!

Never been one to shy away from a good interview, Angelina dishes all including her sex-life in France's Public Magazine.
With quotes like:
"I have never hidden my bisexuality" and
"But since I've been with Brad, I abandoned women. Now there is no room for that or S&M in my life." You can be safe to say that for the time being or whilst Brad is in her life, there will be no girl-on-girl action for Jolie.
Jolie's most famous lesbian relationship was with model Jenny Shimizu, whom she met on the set of the 1996 flick "Foxfire."

Nicole's New Figure

This is the latest transformation of Nicole's body.

The mother to be looks gorgeous and embracing her new curves on the way to the hairdresser.
Nicole is expected to complete her four day jail sentence before September 28.

Shopping rule number one!

I was fortunate enough to be taken on a 'shopping spree' by my boyfriend last night.
Being Thursday night shopping and all, i thought i would of found at least 5 must-have items.
The problem being that my boyfriend and I have different views of taste.
Girls dress for fashion and other girls.
You want to be known as stylish, not trashy.
Guys version of stylish is tight, hugging in every area possible, low-cut etc.
I came across this beautiful dress from Sportsgirl. It was black,purple and silver (all in season colours i might add) was fitted around the bust and elegantly shapped as a bubble. BUT not one of those 'tulip shape bubbles'. I loved it. My boyfriend hated it and said "all these dresses make girls, fat or skinny, look pregnant."
So i took his opinion and moved to the next shop. Big mistake because:
1. Now I cannot stop thinking about the dress
and
2. My boyfriends perfect outfit for me was a cap sleeve high neck Elwood top. Something I didn't enjoy wearing.
We didn't buy the Elwood top.
My point being, girls go shopping with girls. It is so much better and they understand you.
Your boyfriend will love you regardless.
It's funny tho, my boyfriend has a bright yellow top which he cannot wear in my presence. Double Standards?

'Mx' - Vent your spleen..

Every afternoon on the way to the train station the Mx man shoves his paper out infront of me. If I don't grab it, I will run into it, so I be polite and take it.
Sometimes, I will read it depending on how tired I am.
For the past few months now, everytime I get to the Mx Vent your spleen section, there is always messages about "I saw you and your the hottest thing out" or "Girl with the pink jumper, are you single?"
PLEASE! Get over yourselves. It amuses me to think that you can stare at someone a whole trip and not have the courage to say anything to them but you can sms a newspaper and they print it to the Sydney 'train' population.
If your not going to do anything when you see the person, move on.

The art of Hair

If anyone knows me well, they would know I get very bored with my hair, very quick.
I recently (two days ago) went to my hairdresser and changed my hair colour. I went two shades lighter (think Nicole Ritchie in this weeks OK! My inspiration) and I love it.
I feel like a new person.
I was a bit afraid of showing my boyfriend. He prefers my hair darker, but he also loves the change.
A hair colour or cut change is always good. It revamps your look.
Like eyebrows shape your face, hair finishes off your perfect outfit.
Lets face it, you could be dressed in the latest collection from Marc Jacobs but if your hair looks like in need of TLC you dont look polished to perfection.
In the land of the stars, reality TV star, Lauren Conrad admits "She doesn't go out unless she is looking 100% fabulous", thats including the hair!
My tip to you for today is go to your hairdresser and go for a change. You never know, it might be the beginning to a new you!

Denise baby Number three?

In other gossip news, Charlie Sheen has told Entertainment Tonight that ex-wife Denise Richards wants him to father child number three.
A rep for Richards was not available for comment but I do remember there divorce being messy and Richards claiming that Sheen was violent. If that was true, why would you want him to father another child.
Isn't Sheen engaged?
The previous couple have two daughters, Sam and Lola.
Typical Hollywood.

Tozzi sister relationship woes

Cheyenne Tozzi has touched down on Aussie turf for a ten day working visit.
The New York based Aussie model who is town for David Jones has spoken out about her 'friend' Brandon Davis. For anyone who does not know Brandon is an oil-heir and been linked to Paris, Lindsay and Mischa.
They are according to Tozzi "Just good friends" and Paris is a "sweet girl."
However amongst all of this is Taj Burrows, Tozzi's boyfriend of two years. Tozzi admits "They are working through personal things at the moment".
Watch this space.
I believe Cheyenne and Brandon will be the next couple in Hollywood.

New Cosmo on sale now!

I will admit that I have an addiction.
I am addicted to magazines.
Every Monday I buy OK! and NW without fail. Sometimes Famous if it looks interesting. Every month I also buy Cosmo and Cleo.
Something suprised me with this months edition of Cosmopolitan (September editon Jennifer Lopez on the front) the inside has changed. DRAMATICALLY!
There is one thing that has annoyed me. Previously in each addition there has always been a reader question where the reader asks Cosmo staff a question and the staff respond and it looks like it has been scrapped.
What does everyone else think about the new Cosmo?

First Operation -Pre and Post

On Thursday 26 July i faced some of my fears.
A few months earlier, I had been told, what i already knew my tonsils needed to be removed. At first i was relieved, i would never have to encounter those horrific sore throats where you cannot eat sleep or drink without feeling sick.
Twenty-four hours later, call it a relayed reaction i was on the way to my boyfriends cousins house for dinner. I went silent and then broke down in tears. This meant i had to face two of my fears blood and needles. The worst thing i could have done, was read about the operation. This really scared me since i have never had an operation before.
Fast forward to the week before my operation, i was personally praying for a miracle.I was seriously considering cancelling my opeartion and putting up with the fact that every winter i would be sick. My Dad and boyfriend would not let me. They were trying to tell me, it is in my best interests so fast forward to July 26 3am and you would find me, in my bed, watching TV, not sleeping. My alarm clock going off at 4 am and me slowly taking my time to get ready.
6am admitted to the hospital and 9am i go under. I am 19 and I felt like the little boy who went before me was more brave than me. I was crying my eyes out,laying there thinking of ways to escape. Trying to come to terms about what was going to happen was hard. The next thing i knew i had blood removed, needles proding me and a gas mask over my face and a lady above me saying it will be ok.
I woke up not knowing what was going on except I remember being in pain and holding my Dads hand.
I had the operation and fast forward to today and i will tell you the post operation pain is worse than anything anyone could ever imagine. The nurse said everyone has a different take. My take is in the past week i have lived off water,yoghurt and mousse.It hurts to talk,eat and try and live an everyday life. I have been loaded up on painkillers.I have not been able to take my hot showers that i love in winter so much.
In the end, I HOPE it is worth it. What do tonsils do anyway?

Opinion: "In the world of IT girls"

Every teenage girl obsessed with celebrities, who is wearing what, who is making up, breaking up understands me when i say "What is going on with young hollywood?!"
In the past month:
-Lindsay left rehab after an extended stay, sold her 21st birthday party to OK! and then gets arrested for DUI and posession of cocaine which was found in her pants and she claims "She borrowed the pants."
-Nicole has been sentenced to four days jail for her incident which included driving on the wrong side of the highway, smoking pot and under the influence of vicodin. Then to try and save her image she did an interview with Dianne Sawyer and told the world what we already knew - she is pregnant!
- Paris after leaving jail for her driving without a licence charge she promised to change her ways. Only days later do we find Miss Hilton frolicking on a beach and going to party after party
And i dont think she is an IT girl but how could I not mention Britney Spears.
This girl has fallen from grace, more than the others. In a space of less then a year she has flashed herself several times,has been seen partying all hours, shaved her head, went into rehab,publicly fought with family members including her ever present mum and got a divorce! (and we thought Kevin Federline was the bad half in that relationship!
With her crazy behaviour on a recent magazine shoot with OK! you can see Spears is not all there and I am worried she will be the next superstar to be found dead in a 5 star hotel.
All these girls have built multi-million dollar empires based on their image. Rachel Zoe, stylist to the stars helped Nicole get on the best dressed lists and I fel in love with Nicole for her style.
Lindsay has a true talent for acting. Not many child stars make the transition over to adult acting so successfully. I loved Lindsays latest release in Australia, Georgia Rule.
I don't believe the jail stint has affected Paris Hilton's popularity. If anything it has made her even more popular.
But when is enough, enough? Who has the power to control these "IT" girls?
I believe its up to their management, family and friends. These girls need boundaries, not people surrounding them saying "yes" all the time.
